**UPDATED** SNOW ORDINANCE
Beginning December 1st, the village of Stamford’s snow ordinance will go into effect. Any vehicle left parked on village streets, when a winter storm is forecasted to produce more than 2 inches of snow, after 1AM until 7AM, will be ticketed and fined $50.00, which will be issued with a $100 fine for each subsequent ticket. If a second ticket is issued the vehicle will be towed and stored at the owner’s expense on village property. If after one month any vehicle remains unclaimed, it will be sold at a Village auction. This ordinance will remain in effect until April 30th. It is the owner’s responsibility to be aware of the weather! (Effective December 2, 2014)
Message from the Public Works Superintendent and the Stamford Fire Department
Please remember to shovel out the fire hydrants (if you have one in front of your home). It is very important that we are able to access them during the winter….Your help with this, might just save your neighbors home this winter!
FROM THE DESK OF THE ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER
**DOGS SHALL NOT BE PUT OUTSIDE BEFORE 7AM OR LEFT OUT AFTER 9PM WITHOUT THE DIRECT SUPERVISION OF ITS OWNER.** (Please remember that the temperature is dropping and that our animals deserve the same treatment as our children and ourselves. If it is too cold to be outside, please do not leave your animals outside!)
